Email Setup Guide
Connect your email to Brevux using SMTP, SendGrid, Amazon SES, or Aliyun DirectMail. Manage all email conversations alongside your other messaging channels in one unified inbox.
Email Providers
Brevux supports four email adapters: SMTP (any email provider), SendGrid, Amazon SES, and Aliyun DirectMail. Each adapter is optimized for its provider's best practices including deliverability, rate limiting, and bounce handling.
Choose the provider that best fits your existing infrastructure. If you're unsure, SendGrid is recommended for most businesses.
SMTP Configuration
Go to Settings > Channels > Add Channel > Email > SMTP. Enter your SMTP server host, port, username, and password. Common ports are 587 (TLS) and 465 (SSL).
For Gmail, use smtp.gmail.com with port 587. For Outlook, use smtp.office365.com with port 587. Make sure to enable "Less secure apps" or generate an app-specific password.
SendGrid Setup
Create a SendGrid account and generate an API key with Mail Send permissions. In Brevux, go to Settings > Channels > Add Channel > Email > SendGrid. Enter your API key and verified sender email.
Configure domain authentication in SendGrid to improve deliverability. Add the CNAME records SendGrid provides to your DNS settings.
Amazon SES Setup
In AWS Console, navigate to Amazon SES and verify your domain. Create IAM credentials with SES send permissions. In Brevux, enter your AWS Access Key, Secret Key, and SES region.
New SES accounts start in sandbox mode, which limits sending to verified addresses only. Request production access from AWS to remove this restriction.
Aliyun DirectMail
Log in to your Aliyun account and enable the DirectMail service. Verify your sender domain and create sender addresses. Generate API credentials (AccessKey ID and AccessKey Secret).
In Brevux, enter your Aliyun credentials and select your region. Configure the sender address that matches your verified domain.
Best Practices
Always authenticate your domain with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records to maximize deliverability. Use a dedicated sending domain for transactional emails to protect your main domain's reputation.
Monitor bounce rates and complaint rates in your provider's dashboard. Brevux automatically handles unsubscribes and suppression lists to keep you compliant with email regulations.
