WhatsApp Setup Guide

Connect your WhatsApp Business API to Brevux to send and receive messages, use template messages for proactive outreach, and automate conversations with AI agents.

Prerequisites

Before connecting WhatsApp, you'll need: a Meta Business Suite account, a verified Facebook Business Manager, a phone number that hasn't been registered with WhatsApp before, and a Brevux account on any paid plan.

If your business isn't yet verified with Meta, the verification process typically takes 2-5 business days.

Connect via Meta Business Suite

In Brevux, go to Settings > Channels > Add Channel > WhatsApp. Click "Connect with Meta" and sign in to your Meta Business Suite account. Select the business you want to connect and follow the prompts to create or select a WhatsApp Business Account.

Choose a phone number to register. Meta will send a verification code via SMS or voice call to confirm ownership.

Configure Message Templates

WhatsApp requires pre-approved message templates for initiating conversations (messages sent outside the 24-hour customer service window). Go to Settings > WhatsApp > Templates to create new templates.

Templates support variables like {{1}}, {{2}} for personalization. Categories include: marketing, utility, and authentication. Utility templates are approved faster and have lower costs.

Set Up Automated Replies

Navigate to Automation > WhatsApp Flows to create automated conversation flows. You can set up welcome messages, FAQ bots, appointment booking, and order status lookups.

Connect your AI agent to WhatsApp for intelligent automated responses that use your knowledge base to answer customer questions accurately.

WhatsApp Pricing

WhatsApp Business API charges per conversation (24-hour window). Pricing varies by conversation category and country. Marketing conversations cost more than service conversations. Use our WhatsApp Pricing Calculator to estimate your costs.

Brevux does not add markup to WhatsApp's conversation fees. You pay Meta's rates directly.

Troubleshooting

If messages aren't sending, check that your phone number is properly registered and your Meta Business account is in good standing. Ensure your message templates are approved before using them for outreach.

For webhook issues, verify that your Brevux webhook URL is correctly configured in Meta's app settings. Contact support if you continue to experience issues.
